KIRKUS REVIEW

This is a very original story, with a topical interest. Two boys, reading of parachutes, decide to make one for themselves. To test it out, from the barn, they harness their pup to it -- an unexpected gust of wind picks up the whole contraption and the pup goes a travelling. He comes to no harm, is rescued by a quick-witted boy, and the publicity he gets restores him to his owners. Deci Merwin has made the pictures -- almost too pretty for so virile an adventure -- but very attractive. Nice job of reproduction in two tones.
