In each case the author clarifies these organizations and institutions in the present day and correlates similar elements in each, tracing the roots to other traditions and great leaders in religion and philosophy. In days when religious understanding is essential to cooperation between groups, a book of this sort which points up similarities rather than differences, is a valuable addition to studies in contemporary civilization.
