KIRKUS REVIEW

Mendoza of the LAPD and his confederates showing their usual resilience in swiveling from the disappearance of a little old lady (with an unsuspected fortune) to some (photographic) cyanide poisonings to narcotics, and along the way you'll be spending a lot of time at a tropical fish store, the Scale 'n' Fins. As Mendoza says -- in ""the usual run-of-the-mill cases, the routine gets you there"" and Dell Shannon's the kind who dots all three i's in identikit.
