KIRKUS REVIEW

Potpourri #28 for suave (yawn) Luis Mendoza and the other nice guys at Robbery-Homicide, L.A.P.D.. This time, while Mrs Mendoza intrusively hunts for a new house: an Arsenic & Old Lace lady goes after her 29th victim; a nurse is raped and robbed but survives with bravura; an apparent ""torture rape kill"" turns out to be the accidental outcome of a couple's experiment with kinky sex; two retired octogenarians go back to stick-ups out of boredom; and a half-dozen other muggers, druggies, and killers are brought to justice in the overlapping, tough-sentimental Shannon-Linington manner. A few too many extraneous threads, and a few that seem to have been recycled, but, if you LAPD up Nos. 1--27. . . .
