PONGO THE TERRIBLE

Pongo is a French poodle, a malicious, sly and hard-hearted canine. Two dogs who live together, and their acquaintance, a rakish gipsy dog, have a most unpleasant experience with him. It begins one fine day when the circus comes to a little English village, with Pongo as star of the show. He manoeuvres the three friends into a lion's cage, and only by their quick thinking is tragedy averted and tables turned. Children will enjoy this dog world with no humans to speak of; the story is unpretentious and not too well written, but the idea is original and the development entertaining.
