KIRKUS REVIEW

One of France's outstanding cartoonists collaborates with his wife here in this adventure of Virginia, her brother Pat and their dog, Banana. When Virginia conjures up a jungle trip, Paul willingly joins his older sister. Confidently imaginative, they are transported to a great green land where they meet a three humped camel, an obliging parrot- guide, a shower-bath elephant, a flowered panther, and hosts of other congenial animals who, with the help of a navy of whales, agree to be pulled with their jungle island back to Paris where they participate in an imaginary circus. Every one in the imaginary audience cheers and so will the young reader, at this freshly colored, carefree safari.
