THE MYSTERY OF LOVE AND MARRIAGE by Derrick Sherwin Balley

THE MYSTERY OF LOVE AND MARRIAGE

By

Publisher: Harper

The sub title given for this book in ""A Study in the Theology of Sexual Relations"" and in it the author repudiates much of the teaching of the early church and the Puritan emphasis as well. The act of married love is not to be thought of as sinful or shameful, but rather as the symbol of the highest in personal relationships. He buttresses his arguments by an interpretation of the teachings of Jesus and Paul, but most readers will find it more interesting that a churchman should express views on this subject which are quite in line with those of psychologists and other students of the problems of marriage and sex. The author is an Anglican, but other Protestants will find it helpful, particularly those engaged in personal counselling.
