THE FLIGHT OF THE SNOW GEESE

A genial report by the photographers of the Emmy award-winning nature film, The Incredible Flight of the Snow Goose, about their year of going where the wild geese go--and their adventures with adopted orphan goslings, and ""Fred,"" the sandhill crane. As the Bartletts proceeded from the Arctic tundra, with stopovers here and there at wildlife refuges, to the Gulf of Mexico, they found extracurricular work in shepherding their ""creeps""--a group of fifteen goslings, and then Fred. One of the Bartletts' greatest pleasures was to release the imprinted birds, call them back from a flight, and watch them pad back into the van. Not to mention the antics of Fred, whose ""towelling-off act with a rag was used in the Snow Goose film. Pleasant, especially for bird and nature photography buffs, and of course illustrated with excellent photographs.
