A third volume in a series which includes Astronomy and Plastics -- excellent ""first books"" for the uninitiate who would be intelligently informed. Most of us may not expect to own our own planes. All of us expect to know people who will, and we should be in the know as to basic principles of flight, construction, design, what the main instruments mean, in outline at least how a plane is flown, and something of modern meteorology, navigation, and so on. Here is about as much book knowledge as the average two feet on the ground layman can absorb. The glossary -- bibliography -- lists of manufacturers and periodicals -- make possible the next steps in knowledge. Plus sale for air-minded youth.
