A plane is the hero of this ""story"" -- the Marauder, better known as B-26. Here is its history from drawing boards to skies over Europe, North Africa, the Pacific. It was used for torpedoing, for bombing rocket- launching sites, railroads, submarine pens, etc. During the invasion it was used for tactical defense of ground forces.
