The editor of this middling collection of baked goods is partial to fruity, hyphenated cookies, pies (cranberry-applesauce, rhubarb-orange, pineappleoatmeal), and quick breads which utilize similar mix-and-match ingredients. A granola bread or soy-prune loaf may appeal to those with aspirations to healthful eating, but most of these recipes are conventional despite the hokey names. The taste combinations are not well thought out and seem chiefly aimed at children who may well drool over such concoctions as raspberrycoconut squares.
