THE STAR TREATMENT

A celebrity sales pitch for psychoanalysis. The device: interviews with movie people like Bruce Dern, Sammy Cahn, Rod Steiger, Trish Van Devere Dick Benjamin & Pallia Prentiss, and Dan Greenburg, who seems to have gotten in there by mistake. ""I have a tendency to think that no matter how much I do I must do more."" ""My mother died when I was nine."" ""The most terrible symptom I had was insomnia."" ""I'm preoccupied with sex, so a lot of my talk is about sex."" Not a word, ever, about exhibitionism or why any of these folks would want to discuss the internal kinks in their psyches with a stranger who plans to publish what they say. O.K. if you have a burning desire to find out why Tony Randall feels nauseous.
