This is an example of the up and coming modern school that knows everything, reads everything, quotes everyone and humanizes Jesus so completely that He gradually slips into the class of great preachers and teachers. In fact we know Him as a neighbor. Good so far as it goes but it does not go beyond that point to find a Jesus Christ absolutely divine. This is, however, a matter of theology. Dr. Lupton is a well known Unitarian and to this denomination and many Protestants the book will not seem wanting. To most Protestants, however, especially to the Catholic group, it will fall to classify in the devotional category.
