The author of Bob Clifton, Jungle Traveller, Bob Clifton, Congo Crusader, etc., died last spring soon after writing the latest in a good adventure series. This one takes young Bob, his Father still in a hospital, through harassing weeks trying to save the Clifton coffee plantation from another company which wants to take over the whole of their valley. The invaders' methods are first to send Bob a statuette of the evil spirit nu-sutu and, when the word gets around, to take advantage of the frightened Clifton plantation workers. There's excitement when Bob learns the history of nu-sutu from friendly M. Dreyfus, and in the end when he discovers a witch doctor in the evil spirit's disguise.
