KIRKUS REVIEW

Private operative Sader is approached by prominent, elderly Gibbings to find the grandchild out of wedlock which had been given out for adoption some years ago- now on the evidence of a letter received- neglected and brutalized. Sader's search turns up many secret to surprising unknowns; the adoptive parents are presumably dead; so is the child- although there is another youngster involved; a murder attends his inquiry, and he is stalked in his pursuit to save the child he knows to be abused but still alive. A young victim is again (opus previous) a soft spot for suspense, and this will hold your interest while not altogether commanding your belief.
