ST. FRANCIS DE SALES by Dom Cuthbert- Ed. Smith

Subtitled, A Diary of Meditations, and translated by the editor into lucid, smooth-flowing English, this is a collection of writings drawn principally from St. Francis de Sales' Devout Life and Treatise on the Love of God, and arranged for meditation, one selection for each day of the year. It is a gift book, beautifully printed, and one eminently practical in its aim ""to provide a minimum dose of spiritual reading for anyone who is too busy for more"". It is hardly necessary to recommend the sound doctrine, balanced, practical advice of a psychological and spiritual nature and gantle compassionate spirit of St. Francis deSales, all of which are manifested in those short selections, that are suitable for meditation and providing motivation for those interested in advancing in the spiritual life in the midst of their worldly pursuits.
