A MISSION OF MERCY

Red China's Chairman is dying from a brain tumor and only the skill of neurological surgeon Aubrey Forrest can save him. Chinese agents hope to persuade the reluctant Forrest by kidnapping his daughter Mercy. Mercy, coincidentally, happens to head ""Protest,"" an activist group with no political affiliations--it's subsidized by the Russians and the C.I.A. Which makes this more of an international grab-bag, fast but unintentionally farcical reading.
