KIRKUS REVIEW

Manhattan adventures, modern miracles performed by Jehovah, by Jesus, by Satan, incognito, and the surprising (or are they surprising?) reactions of the modern mind to such demonstrations. A sort of Faust-brought-up-to-date. Short sketches and long. Three modern miracles for the orthodox(?) -- not too too -- church-man. The humans are oddly likable -- the problems besetting the All Highest and His Son and His traditional enemy are sympathetically treated. And the well-known Marquis humor divests the fantasy of any reproach of sacrilege. For the Marquis fans -- you know your own market there.
