THE DUCK THAT FLEW BACKWARDS

By

Publisher: Dial

A wacky yarn that adults will chuckle at, too, about an outcast duckling who disgraced his father by flying backwards. While Millard's sisters swam and flew in the correct manner, Millard swam and flew stern first, to the consternation of the old man who was all for losing Millard as soon as possible to keep his reputation. However, Millard's talents save the family from hawks and guns and Millard marries Melanie who overlooks his handicap and teaches him to fly frontwards. The humor sparkles in the slangy idiom and the side-of-the-bill cracks of the W.C. Fields duck father.
