KIRKUS REVIEW

A fast moving Wyoming mountaineering story has its share of thrills and spills as two boys, Carl and Red, and old Dr. MacPherson race to beat a gang of communists to information hidden in an isolated plane wreck. Around Christmas time at the small ski resort near his home, Carl becomes suspicions of Stephen Kovnic, 18 year old Olympic ski champion from Hungary who has managed to win the affections of Judy Forge, whose scientist father died in the nearby wreck. With the race on, another American scientist almost hoodwinks Carl and his friends, before they find that he and Stephen are in cahoots to get Dr. Forge's atomic defense secrets from the plane- but not quite. Straight line.
