JIMMY THE KID by Donald E. Westlake

JIMMY THE KID

The genial fumblebums of The Hot Rock and The Bank Shot come up with a foolproof notion out of a paperback by Richard Stark (Westlake's cover) -- namely the apprehension of Jimmy the kid who is a precocious thirteen and has anticipated his kidnapping in a session with his shrink Schrankenzieher who tells him he's paranoid. Actually he has a good time on his outing -- watching television, playing hearts -- and at the end of course this kid's not caught napping when he leaves his captors with a few bills and his dirty laundry. Knee-high to nothing, but Jimmy's engaging and so is Westlake who knows how to convert a nice notion into a nice bundle.
