THE NUDISTS by Donald Johnson

THE NUDISTS

By

Publisher: Duell, Sloan & Pearce

A friendly exposure of the much misrepresented nudists, this gives more than the bare facts of ""who they are, what they are and what they are trying to accomplish"". The history of the movement which began in Germany and was transplanted here (without the emphasis on health and calisthenics), the first campsites and organized get-togethers, this goes on to show what ""gymnosophy"" offers- the parks and recreational facilities, a wholesome way of life for the average family. It also details the obstructions nudism has faced through the years, from the censorship of magazines and films, to the arrests, raids, prosecution and legislation, as well as ridicule and false charges of obscenity. A strengthening, stable society-this al fresco life continues to find its converts who will appreciate the long overdue explanation here. Curiosity will probably alert some others as well.
