KIRKUS REVIEW

A prolonged gimmick about a stranded crew of alien explorers galumphing around the globe, circa 1908, in a vain attempt to start a world war so as to speed up Earthside technology enough to repair their ship. Featured in the cast: H. G. Wells as cultural liaison between the castaways and the public; Teddy Roosevelt (""By Godfrey, this is a bully wheeze, so it is!""); Thomas Alva Edison, twenty-seventh President of the United States; Grigori Rasputin, commentator on the ""electrodiffusion"" broadcast of Vladimir Ulyanov's installation as Minister-President of Czar Nicholas' Russian Democratic Empire (""that banging you hearing is twenty-one-gun salute from battleship Potemkin""). And more, and more, and more. Only for terminal cuteness freaks.
