KIRKUS REVIEW

More critical than biographical, unfortunately, as a good, easy-going life of Paul would go well. Dr. Riddle is too much of a student to write anything but a scholarly critique--each new thought presents a problem and each conflict of Paul's lures him off into the realm of New Testament investigation and research. So it's a grand book for the clergy, teachers or scholars but it presupposes too great a knowledge of Judaism and Pauline studies to be termed ""a modern biographical sketch"" or appreciated by the average laymen. Rather it is a brilliant and stimulating study.
