THE TRUE BOOK OF LITTLE ESKIMOS

Pleasing grey and two-tone wash drawings by Mary Gehr help depict Eskimo activities presented here as the story of young Amak and his family throughout a year. But in spite of the facts about food, clothes, housing, hunting etc., it is a disappointingly stilted and babyish telling, full of stock phrases that make the Eskimos seem like transplanted Americans.
