DR. WHITNEY'S SECRETARY

Professional problems and crises de coeur, better handled than some, in a dester's story. Joy, Dr. Whitney's secretary, persuades him to take up practice in her Massachusetts home town where he is needed, but where he meets the hostility of her fiance, Vic, and of the weary, overworked and negligent local medico. Clive loses a case, because of faulty hospital equipment, but assumes the blame rather than exposing the hospital. It is joy that fights the battle for him, clears him, and realizes that she loves him and not Vic. Rentals chiefly.
