KIRKUS REVIEW

Crime Club selection which pins the label of a mystery novel on it, but actually there is no deduction, little suspense, and fairly slow motion. The story revolves around Oliver Babcock, a moussy little man close to retirement age, and the aftermath of the killing of his tyrannical wife. Relieved at her death (at the hand of a burglar) he develops a mild (?) mania for helping out other harried spouses, disposing of the tyrants. That his attempts misfire falls to discourage him, and the final attempt is foiled and Oliver committed to an institution. Frankly I found it dull.
