KIRKUS REVIEW

Everybody is musical and everybody can play an instrument claims the enthusiastic author. Part I is dedicated to breaking down the inhibitions most people have regarding active musical participation. A musical quiz is given followed by descriptions and lessons on easy instruments -- the ukelele, autoharp, harmonica and hylophone. In Part II, the more complicated instruments -- piano, accordion, recorder, guitar -- are shown to be accessible to one with no previous knowledge of music. There is a complete list of instruments which includes descriptions, costs, and recommendations as well as lists of music rated in order of simplicity. Everybody can play or sing in a short time and have fun too.
