This book covers a far wider field than its title implies, actually a survey of the whole field of anthropology, and a criticism of its shortcomings from the scientist's point of view, as compared with the concreteness of evidence in other allied fields. It devotes itself earnestly to showing up the fallacies concerning ""race"" and ""blood"" -- until it would seem to be written for the purpose of destroying the ""Nordic"" or ""Aryan"" gospel of Mr. Hitler. To the uninitiate, the book is a revelation and of great interest. Comparatively little space is given to an actual description of European peoples, according to countries, and this part alone is rather dry reading.
