The Greenwalds' youngest son was ready for school. What am I to do now? Dorothy asked Bob. And not only did he tell her to write a book--we're informed near its close--his interest and support were so cheering that she decided to write about their relationship. So, with interpolated comments from Bob, this is Dorothy's account of her pleasant--if less than earthshaking--romance with her husband of more than a decade. From descriptions of their problems, we are meant to extrapolate solutions to ours. ""Problem 1--Kids Cause Friction"" is resolved like this: ""It helps if your husband has a good sense of humor--and if you do, too, for that matter. But a good sense of humor needs to be supplemented by understanding."" So much for kids. Sex, doing dishes, and family fights are covered with the same soggy blanket, and the old saw is positively toothless by the time the reader is through.
