From descriptions of their problems, we are meant to extrapolate solutions to ours. ""Problem 1--Kids Cause Friction"" is resolved like this: ""It helps if your husband has a good sense of humor--and if you do, too, for that matter. But a good sense of humor needs to be supplemented by understanding."" So much for kids. Sex, doing dishes, and family fights are covered with the same soggy blanket, and the old saw is positively toothless by the time the reader is through.
