CRIMSON FRIDAY

Small talk and plenty plotting for murder in a New England town when its eccentric enigma, a Mrs. Moran, disappears, her maid is murdered, and suspicion centers on Al and Janey's brother. An arsenic cache, an empty harp crate, double impersonation and an alias, a deliberately scotched scandal in the past all combine to false clue a pretty sudden solution. Illogical, illegitimate, but smoothly blended.
