KIRKUS REVIEW

This new collection of short stories might prove an introduction to Dorothy Canfield's earlier books. While labelled short stories, it has a strong flavor of personal reminiscence, with the Vermonter's dry humor, keen sense of right and wrong. Bit by bit the patchwork quilt of the community and its people fits together. Good Americana and pleasantly savored atmosphere and character.
