HANDICAP RACE

Mrs. Wilson, who specializes in inspiration, follows the race run by Roger Arnett, who didn't let paraplegia slow him down when it cut short his career as a champion college runner. Roger first found his way in spite of his handicap, then because of it as he worked, married La Verna (touched by polio), adopted three children, developed a prize-winning glad business, and eventually became a minister to the handicapped. This between critical bouts of illness, hospitalization, operations. ""A handicap race is where you just run and run until you can't possibly go any farther, and then you keep running some more!"" is how Mrs. Wilson sums up Roger's life. His amazing, admirable performance is not furthered by Mrs. Wilson's insistent, a-literate style, but her audience won't mind.
