THE HIDDEN KEY

Youngsters who enjoy playing store will be drawn to this story of several children who act out the game in a real situation. Kay's key to the closed general store provides access to the ""stage"" and to one of the most eventful afternoons in an idle summer. Amid taking telephone orders, restocking shelves and selling, the children decide to run a sale to defray the expense of displacing their beloved general store with a modern supermarket. But all grandiose dreams collapse when adults enter the picture. Mr. Marsden is shocked at the condition of his store and the architect's plans so carefully glimpsed are for a playground. Though this will be a more appropriate area for channelling these juvenile heroes' energies, the more enterprising members of the audience may be disappointed. Homorous, but a bit too earthbound.
