BAFFLING AFFAIR IN COUNTY HOSPITAL

Energetic Debbie Hayes leaves home to take a nursing job in a nearby county hospital where one of her first case is the wife of an East Indian ambassador to the U.S. When a priceless jewel is found in Debbie's raincoat, she is implicated and begins to question others, particular a respected, older nurse, Mrs. Cochran. From the stolen jewels to narcotics, from Mrs. Cochran to her son whom she is attempting to protect, the story reaches a contrived conclusion with a heart attack prompting the cathartic confession... All the elements that make up a good mystery are at a minimum- action, plausibility. But Dorothy Deming knows her nursing.
