APPOINTMENT ON THE HILL

A staid, anecdotal autobiography, of the altruistic, well-spent life of Detser, first a social worker, then a leader of the Women's International League Peace and Freedom. The author recounts her indoctrination into social work under Addams at Hull Mouse, her experiences as a Quaker rehabilitation worker after I in Austria and Russia, and then her work with the League. She became a powerfull and respected of presidents and , and the driving force behind many resolutions and sets. The philosophic recall of an optimistic pacifist, of limited appeal.
