For too many children's non-fiction authors, writing a book consists of shuffling index-carded notes and then stringing them all together. This one is divided into chapters on horns and antlers, hoofs and claws, and teeth--each consisting of separate facts about various animals who have such weapons--and then a few similar chapters on walrus tusks, porcupine quills, and other features peculiar to just one species. Scrappy.
