Two poor little rich girls, post-deb Tracy Cannon and her emotionally unadjusted kid sister Tina, are left with virtually nothing but a house by a lake in the Berkshires when their uncle dies. The story of how they make a new life in the country is as shallow as the successful, happy outcome is inevitable. Tracy has left New York trying to forget unfaithful Ritchie and finds romance with a local doctor. Tina at sixteen makes fantastic strides in emotional stability and forms a warm friendship with a budding artist. To background it all the girls make money by taking in roomers, growing vegetables, and they get along splendidly with the neighbors.
