13 WITCHES: 2 Wizards; the Devil, and a Pack of Goblins

Among these 13 stories-- all very short-- about those beings who live on night-air, under the earth or above the clouds, only one ends unhappily-- ""The Bewitched Court"". Scraggy haired witches, subterranean dwellers, and stubby-legged goblins are here, but at the end of each tale, one or more loses his wicked powers. Young listeners will enjoy the spooks, and will be glad that the eery clan does not live on after the stories are read. The tales are clearly recorded by the author, who acts as narrator, lending a folk-tone which removes the stories from reality.
