VICTORIAN HOUSE

Your money's worth in the interrelated stories of all of the Pratt family, and the trials and tribulations of marriage in the days of Queen Victoria. The background is filled with details of dress, decoration, morals, customs, etc. A long book for those who like leisurely period novels. The story revolves around the career of Phoebe, with a non-Victorian upbringing, who comes to live with her guardian, member of the genteel Pratt family. She rebels, runs away, and has a malodorous career, until fate throws her into the arms of the Pratts again.
