Last year's The nchanted Cup told the Tristram story, and this tale of Launcelot and Guenivere again shows Dorothy Roberts' gift of giving immediate awareness to material drawn from the remote past. In the narrative that draws to a climax as Arthur is forced to act against Launcelot, there is much that is new to those familiar with more glamourized versions and the cross currents of resentment and suspicion that made for dissolution are evident in incident after incident. Careful and realistic.
