Nipper joins the ranks of Scampy and Rusty and Macgregor and Tinker -- each a different breed -- in a popular series. The Marguerite Kirmse pictures, in soft black and white pencil and in color, give these books a substantial value aside from the pleasant and amusing stories. Nipper saw snow for the first time -- and didn't like it -- so he set out to find Jack Frost and order a stop to it. He consulted various animals of the countryside, but ignored their advice, and thought his problems were solved when he destroyed a snowman -- and rain came and washed the snow away.
