KIRKUS REVIEW

Another Connemara McGuire adventure with strong horse appeal. This time the college age owner of the Shamrock Stables rescues a young thoroughbred about to be shot because of a broken leg. Connie is given the horse, and after treating, training and priming Copper Khan, finds herself in the racing game. Copper Khan walks away with race after race but Connie must buck the dishonest practices of the horse's former owner. A last minute injury to Copper Khan, a mysterious remedy applied by irrepressible Paddy O'Rourke, and a helping hand from Connie's friends, the gypsies, send Copper Khan victoriously down the stretch. Gay and horsy.
