SEA FROG, CITY FROG by Dorothy O.--Adapt. Van Woerkom

SEA FROG, CITY FROG

This Americanized Japanese tale looks as though it will turn out to be an amphibian edition of country mouse/city mouse (see above) but by the time these two silly frogs meet on top of a tall, barren hill they're so tired they both decide that just a glimpse of each other's territory would be enough. So the frogs ""make themselves tall"" by standing up on their hind legs and holding on to each other, but when ""their noses were turned where they wanted to go,"" their eyes were facing backwards so they ""only saw where they had been."" The drawings make it abundantly easy to figure out what's gone wrong and the lumpish, dreamy frogs are sure to be attention-getters.
