KIRKUS REVIEW

This is a lovely looking book, with all of Dorothy Lathrop's artistic interpretation in both text and pictures, which are reproduced in color throughout. The story tells of a South American red squirrel, and of how two children tried and tried to find out how to make her happy. She liked the foods they brought her -- all South American in origin, but she wasn't completely happy until she made a nest for herself in a big gourd. True story material, which would go better read aloud with the age group for which it is intended.
