KIRKUS REVIEW

The excitement of living in self-sufficient isolation in a lighthouse paces this absorbing story. Vic and Rina, thirteen-year-old orphans, refuse to be separated and move with their older brother to a lighthouse off Long Island. With brother Eddie's after college odd jobs, the family works for money to buy their new home. The reward received from uncovering a mystery involving a rug burglar helps the treasury and at last the lighthouse can be bought. Also Eddie's intended marriage means that the twins are to have a real home. An appealing setting, warm family relationships, well-developed mystery and fast action -- all in all, good reading.
