CROWELL'S HANDBOOK OF FAULKNER by Dorothy Tuck

CROWELL'S HANDBOOK OF FAULKNER

By

Publisher: Crowell

Much more of a student's companion and comfort than Brooks' William Faulkner (1963, p. 1066) this well-organized book supplies the genealogies, the history, the landmarks (and a very complete map) of Yoknapatawpha County. There is a synopsis for each of the published books and short stories. These, together with critical notes, combine to form an excellent readers' guide and memory-jogger. 172 characters are listed with identifying details. A biographical sketch of the Nobel laureate is included as well as a short essay discussing his style.
