This British adventure/mystery involving a political plot, murders and the capture of a British king is talky but thorough. A Guardsmen's rebellion, believed to have been ""spontaneous"" against the U.N.-Government policy of interference in Rhodesia, is followed by a series of riots, and the King of England is apparently killed in a plane explosion on the way back from Italy. A reporter, a kidnapped Guardsman, and a devoted Secretary to the Lord President of the Council all to some degree aid in solving the identity of the group threatening the government, and rescue the King, who had been taken from the plane and popped in a trunk. The authors manage a fair degree of plausibility for an unlikely fancy.
