THERE'S AN ELEPHANT IN THE GARAGE

How April Janice Jones, when her cat Zelda is exiled to the garage for being naughty, leads Zelda and two teddy bears on a wild elephant hunt--and how April Janice Jones and Zelda capture the elephant and confine him to the garage in Zelda's place. From the sense and structure of the opening sentence, to the manner in which April Janice Jones commands the two great growling bears her imagination makes of the teddies, to the way the jungle grows in April Janice Jones' garage, this contains so many large and small echoes of Where the Wild Things Are that it comes across as a deliberate variation on the classic. As such, it's comparatively cluttered and coy. Otherwise, with Kellogg's help, diverting enough.
