THE SOUTH TO POSTERITY

I did not think that a bibliography could be such good reading. And yet that is what The South to Posterity actually is. Freeman, whose name carries weight on anything pertaining to the South, has studied the primary sources, records, letters, diaries, contemporary sources, writings of the period, on both sides of the water, and here presents his results, in a record of the reliable, authentic and useful material on the Confederacy, either contemporary or written within the experience and memory of participants. An important reference book for anyone seeking factual data of the Southern side of the Civil War. The extracts he has selected give it spice and flavor.
